The Singing Building

A collaboration with Lucas Maassen and a continuation of The Singing Chair. This time, a piece of architecture is transformed by lending it a voice and thus giving it an opportunity to spill its guts to the people on the city’s sidewalks.

For light festival GLOW Eindhoven 2012, rap artist Fresku modeled for the mouth. The installation was displayed the entire week, attracting 450.000 visitors, and ended up being a crowd favorite. The project was shown again on Paradiso Amsterdam during Het Wonder Van Eindhoven.

In 2017 The Singing Building was re-created in the historical Tori Quarters in Helsinki for light festival Lux. Finnish rapper Hannibal lent his voice for this edition.
